WHERE TO STAY

Hotel Panamonte: A Landmark Historial Inn:

In addition to the Panamonte’s 12 new guest rooms, all of our rooms have been newly renovated to provide true comfort, yet we’ve been careful to maintain the look and feel that evokes charm and a quieter, less hurried era in Panama. All guestrooms are equipped with newly upgraded bathrooms, telephones, hair dryers, air-conditioning, security safe, Wi-Fi, and Sky TV; our suites feature fluffy robes and slippers. All rooms are surrounded by beautiful gardens full of birds and butterflies, with lots of outdoor areas for lounging … or napping.

Finca Lerida: Enjoy a Luxury Experience

Tales of Birds and High Altitude Coffee… Finca Lerida’s reputation is as old as the first coffee that Panama exported to Germany back in 1929. The high quality coffee produced inside this exceptional plantation made its international buyers realize that there was more to Panama that just its Canal. This was, and still is, Finca Lerida.

EXPERIENCES

One with Nature. Go Hiking:

Explore Volcán Barú National Park on this half-day guided hiking tour. After a 25-minute drive, you’ll reach the start of the Pipeline Trail, which is about 2.8 miles (4.5 kilometers) roundtrip. Along the way, discover the cloud forest that surrounds the perimeter of the park. The trail features old-growth trees, bridges over a creek, and rare animal species, such as the quetzal, sloths, and monkeys.

Enjoy a Coffee Tour

The coffee tour begins in the fields of Boquete where we can get a glimpse of the three vital factors that influence the coffee’s quality: the soil, the micro-climate, and the particular genetics of the variety. Next we will learn about the history, origin, qualities and secrets of coffee handling. In the second phase of the tour, we will learn about coffee production all the way from ripe coffee cherry to roasted bean. The tour ends at the Tasting Table where the long, intense and complex coffee process ends.
